Using Resolve Live for colour correction

PostTue Oct 27, 2015 6:03 pm

Hello

I am trying to setup Resolve live to use the colour correction features. I am using Resolve version 12 and a decklink quad card. I have selected the input in the 'Video I/O and GPU' settings however when clicking 'Resolve Live' under the Colour tab I get the following message:

Unable to start Resolve Live
Please create a timeline before enabling Resolve Live.

Any ideas to get this working?

There is a section in the Manual that details the Live implementation. Stating here that I have never used it.

Resolve used to create a master Timeline at the time of new project creation, but that is no longer the case.
It may be just as simple a solution as opening your Edit page and creating a new timeline.

Be aware also that you need to run two BMD display devices if you want simultaneous live grade and calibrated display.

That's how we do it in R11, create an empty timeline.
Also, the resolution and framerate has to match, and all the sdi stuff in the preferences must be set correctly. That's with an Ultrastudio express and BMCC sdi.

I wish there were more info about using the Resolve Live feature.

I have had little luck on seeing it being used with hardware and set up options and descriptions.

I personally would rather use this than live grade with 2 cameras so I could keep everything in one program.

if anyone knows of any good video demos etc please post them.

Thx
