Generate Optimized Media Bug

PostFri Jul 29, 2016 8:20 am

Hi,

I have just started playing around with Optimized Media generation.

If I select one clip and click Generate Optimized Media it all processes correctly. At the end of processing the clip changes from None to Original Res.

If you select 3 or more clips and run Generate Optimized Media the time taken to complete the process is correct and the cache location increases in size but only the last clip of the batch links to the cache location. For example in a 5 clip batch, only the 5th clip will change from None to Original Res. The other 4 clips stay showing None. Scrubbing speed of clips shows the Optimized Media is not linked for the 4 clips, only the 5th clip.

System Details

Resolve: 12.5.0b.037
i5 2500K
Nvidia GTX 1070
16GB RAM
Windows 10 x64
Original clips on 2TB HDD
Cache Location for Optimized Media, 250GB SSD

I may have fixed the issue myself. I disabled auto save.
Seems like if the project saved during the optimize process it caused issues. Probably a good idea if the program auto disable the autosave while processing so I can leave it enabled in settings?

I'm seeing the same problem here

every time the auto save starts up
I lose all the cached footage in my timeline...
both the render and the cached source and the cached output

in my case it was the "auto save to backup project" setting being selected

:-((
