12.5.1 mp4 playback

PostSun Aug 14, 2016 10:21 am

I tried 12.5.1 (free) without quicktime and it doesn't seem to see mp4 files, at all. 12.5 works flawlessly, (with quicktime). 'Can it be an amd cpu issue? (Something to do wth the instruction set.) I haven't tried 12.5.1 with quicktime, yet. Does anyone have the same issue?

Thanks, missed that. Though I haven't had any problems with 12.5 on win7. I haven't done any major projects. But with version 12, I finished an hour long HD video for a play, that I was working on for months, without any problems.

Yeah, I'm in the same boat here.

My Phantom3 files worked fine in 12.5 (on win7) but in 12.5.1 they are totally invisible to Resolve.

Having QT installed or not makes no difference.

If I understand this correctly, 12.5.1 doesn't rely on QT any more to read ProRes. That might explain the change.
No, an iGPU is not enough, and you can't use HEVC 10 bit 4:2:2 in the free version.

Wow, thanks, seems to work great on w7 with the patch, quicktime free at last!
