PostFri Jul 01, 2016 10:51 am

I have installed 2 new gtx 1080 in my system, all work good, but when i activate scope the gui is very very laggy . Ror test i have reinstalled r390x and all work fine.

Sorry if I'm being a bit silly, but do you mean laggy?

You should run the standard candle test on those bad boys.

1080 and 4k uhd work with 4:4:4 but when select scope the gui is laggy but output from deklink to monitor go in realtime without drop.

Standard candle with 2 gtx 1080.

43 node blur 24 realtime
44 node blur 23 fps
66 node blur 17 fps.

Is this 4x faster than best Mac Pro?

It looks like it blows titan by 1.5x (based on some reported results from the web).

Next question, is 8GB of ram enough or will you encounter "Out of GPU memory" errors?

In a 4k timeline use max Temporal Noise Reduction settings (5 frames, Better, Large) and output a 4k video signal. What is your resulting FPS and more importantly do you have any "Out of GPU memory" errors?

I'm trying to identify if there's any benefit waiting for the 1080ti 12gb or Pascal Titan X 24gb.

Is 8GB enough to work in all resolutions up to 5k...8k? Is there a benefit to having more ram?

yep i work every time with 6k red Weapon file , with neat video 4 or tnr , not problem.
With 6kuhd Full debayer , R3d 5:1, in timeline 4k uhd, Tnr better large 5 frame average 90% i go to 9 fps.
Withou any problem.

I'm in the same boat, so this is a really interesting question. Between the 1080, and forthcoming 1080ti and Pascal Titan, it would be nice to know the where the Law of Diminishing Returns kicks-in.

An 8k timeline with TNR might require more than 8 GB of Vram on the GPUs.

If 8gb Vram is sufficient for UHD 4k is the 1080ti and Pascal Titan worth the extra $$$?

I'd rather have four 1080's instead of two Pascal Titan's if that's the case.

What if you turn 1 GPU off?
How well does Resolve scale with number of GPUs?

As a metric that is completely distinct from the amount of VRAM, the bus speed of the HBM2 memory purported to be used in the Pascal Titan might represent a significant value proposition in terms of Resove.
