Apple Pro Res 422 and H,264, Not too difficult. Since the first tip worked for the new commands in advanced with skip timing, my deep suspicion is it is not a video problem, but a deep coding problem in the newest version of Resolve 2.5.1 with some kind of timeout call threading thing. I think I need to post this in a new part of the forum also, because I am not so sure it is just a graphics card problem anymore.

Just to be sure. What it'smean? Will these cards not suitable as GPU, or as UI device? I have nVidea Quadra 400 (which is "unsupported legacy" device) and Radeon Sapphire R9 380; can I use them booth with monitor connected to Quadra and Radeon used as GPU?

Yes, if you use the "unsupported" one for GUI only. Be aware the you might start to mixing old and new and different drivers and you might be in uncharted territory...

no, of your GUI card is NOT used for computation, it will effectively not count.

Just found this out the hard way after upgrading to 12.5 and building two sequences in 4K, can we reinstall 12.3 and still open (and utilize the older NVIDIA cards) and the projects we saved in 12.5? Or can we back save the 12.5 projects to 12.3? Thanks for your help!
I am in the process of setting up a Dell Precision W7600 as my Resolve editing and grading machine. The Dell came with a Quadro 4000 with 2.0 support that should be supported in 12.5.3. But aside from that, does it make sense to keep this old card for the GUI and combine it with a new GTX1080 or would it be better to toss the Quadro and use the GTX1080 for GUI and for rendering as well? Or would it even be better to get two AMD RX480, one for the GUI/GPU, one just as GPU? I am working with BMCC raw as well as ProRes422HQ UHD and h264 UHD footage. In case it matters, I am intending to buy a Decklink Mini Monitor card to run an EIZO CS2420 as HD preview monitor.
Dwaine, I checked the list you refer to and the list of the supported cards aswell but my NVidia K3000M is not in either one. Would you by any chance know whether or not this card is supported in Resolve 12.5?

This may be slightly off-topic, but I need help. I have a Dell Inspiron 17R N7110 running Windows 7 64-bit. DR 12.5 wouldn't run because I only have the standard Intell HD Graphics Family card. However, I've found out that my laptop supports a NVIDIA GeForce GT 525M (Discrete) card. This card is NOT on the list of cards that won't work.
So, I have two questions. ! Will this card indeed run DR 12.5 and 2 will DR 12.5 work with Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium, Service Pack 1?
Windows 7 is no longer officially supported so it may work, but if you have any issues BM aren't likely to fix them.
As to the GPU, it should work, but bear in mind that the GT525m is very low end so performance will be poor

I have also noticed that nVidia 425M & 580GTX, even though they load normally, there are a lot of bugs, especially in the color correct area after save/load. I noticed that when in a project filled with 8-bit image sequences, I imported a 32bit EXR one. All the corrections went haywire on the 12.5.6.
Although I don't get it why BM has to put so much resources restrictions on resolve since other professional software like premiere pro work on much more flexible configurations, but anyways, after i followed a lot of your threads I found that my FX 580 won't work on version 12.5 because it is CUDA 1.1.
Well, what if I can't upgrade my graphics card at this time, which is the most recent version of resolve that will work with my card and where can I download it?
Well it's included in the list you provided with a CUDA 1.1 as I mentioned earlier, so it must have worked with some version of resolve. I searched but I couldn't find information about each version of resolve supports. Also, how can I revert to an earlier version of resolve?
If you are talking about the list I linked to in the first post in this thread, there are multiple cards in that, that don't support any Resolve version.
My comment was that none of the cards in that list support Resolve 12.5. That doesn't mean all the cards in that list are supported in any earlier Resolve version.
Earlier Resolve versions back to 10.1.5 are available on the BMD web site in the Support area for Resolve/Fusion.
So I have an NVidia Quadro 3000M graphics card, in an HP Elitebook Pro 8760w Notebook that runs on Windows 7 Professionnal. I saw that the Quadro 3000M graphics card is in the Cuda Legacy GPU list, but it has 2.1 compute capability. So shouldn't it normally support CUDA hardware acceleration with resolve 12.5 ? I updated the driver, but I still get the Error message saying no hardware found that supports CUDA acceleration etc.

I'm just another user. However, I have two suggestions for trying to use 14.
If you can launch 14 and see the project page, type CTL+, (control key and comma). That will take you to a screen with the preferences in the upper left side of the screen.
Go to Video I/O and GPU and choose the GPU Processing Mode drop-down box. Your choices are Auto, CUDA, or OpenCL. Try CUDA and save the change - if the rest of 14 works, there you are. If that doesn't work, try OpenCL and save the change. If that works, end of problem. If neither works, you're past my skill level. Sorry.

From what I see (from Nvidia's website), your GTX560M has 192 CUDA cores. I have a GTX680MX in my iMac (2GB) and it is actually below the desired level of card (by memory min 4GB) for v14. My card has 1536 CUDA cores. While the 560M may support CUDA 2.0 it is pretty underpowered for v14 and I wouldn't be surprised if you run into performance issues with it. I occasionally get "out of GPU memory" errors but that has mostly been when working with highly compressed footage like h.264 and using a LUT + other corrections. I would consider my machine as barely adequate for 4K and ok for 2K/HD. I edit quite a bit of C300MKII footage in UHD and so far 14 has performed pretty well. It will play clips that are just dropped on to the timeline in realtime without problem - even with a LUT applied. IMHO the bottom line is the 560M is not a great choice for utilizing CUDA acceleration for this app.

I have a GeForce GT 120 that I use for my computer monitors, but I also have a Cubix Expander with 2 GTX Titans. Since the GT 120 is on the not compatible list, will I need to get a new card when I upgrade to DR14?

I have a MBP with NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M 2 GB & Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB, the 12.5 works fine actually, however every time I launch 14, it pops up asking me to update and crash
All was working fine but I needed more speed in rendering and was oftern crashing while scrubbing.
I changed in the preference panel the option to use CUDA and since than I can't access any of my project anymore nor I can simply open the application... How can I reset the previous setting and keep accessing my project I need to deliver my work? I just wanted to try to enhance the performances using my second graphic card on my laptop. Can anyone confirm that these cards are no longer supported? They are not on the legacy list since they aren't legacy, as was mentioned previously. Perhaps there is something I'm not doing correctly?
CUDA 8.0.83 worked for Resolve 12.5. I’m downloading Studio 14.1.1 now. I did get a timeline error that I’d run out of application memory and I needed to reduce the resolution of my timeline. I was attempting to edit in GoPros 4k. Not sure why that’s an issue. Just happy that it would boot.

I can confirm that the CUDA 8.0.83 driver for the NVIDIA Quadro K5000 Cards will work in Resolve 14.1. ***UPDATE*** After installing the newest Mac OS update (10.13.2), CUDA 8.0.83 is no longer supported. However, the default OSX graphics driver will run Resolve 14.1.1.
After I complete a project, or at least portions of it, I’ll report my experience with my current set-up.
Is there a trick to make resolve 14 works with CUDA instructions on a macbook pro mid 2014, with Nvidia Geforce GT 750M that use CUDA ? (GPU seems to be supported, I read that)

I assume you are using the native Apple NVIDIA driver, and not the NVIDIA Web Driver?
Try CUDA 8.0.90 and see if that's any better. I haven't had a chance to test the 387.128 CUDA driver yet, but the 387.99 driver often didn't work, and in those cases the 8.0.90 driver did.
Is there any way to get resolve 12.5? I have a Dell XPS 17 with a Geforce GT 555M which only has cuda compute capability of 2.1 and therefore doesn't work with resolve 14. I can't find a download for 12.5 anywhere? Thanks, Peter
