Ursa Mini Pro Screen Resolution?

PostFri Mar 03, 2017 5:25 am

The spec sheet states 4" but doesn't state the pixel resolution. Is it 1920x1080 like the Ursa Mini?

I don't know its resolution in pixels but from using it in person I found 2 things:

It's SHARP. You can focus close-ups quite well, wide shots...it depends, usually it's not easy.

It's SMALL. You need an external monitor more often than the UM46K.

The difference in size VS the UM46K 5" display is VERY NOTICEABLE.

Hope it helps!

Finally score one point for my ancient unloved URSA Mini 4.6K camera! It's only one point point, but, hey, we're not shutout in this game!

Hey Rick, the 5" is SO MUCH BETTER believe me!

Size, res, color, everything basically...

You could always just add the 5-inch VA or the SmallHD 502 monitor and get the nice 5-inch monitor back.

As much as I like the URSA Mini screen, I don't use it more than I use the viewfinder or the Video Assist 4K. So if the URSA Mini Pro screen is less resolution than the URSA Mini then that's not a deal breaker.

I have the 502, the 702 HB and a Gratical Eye so sure it would not be an issue for me,
I was traying to help the majority of users who would purchase the cam doing
already doing a financial stretch and thinking to be all set without an external monitor.

Also for the other more advanced users...when you need to be barebones the difference is more than you think just looking at numbers.

In fact I consider 5" the lowest acceptable size for a monitor and this fact is readily proved by the new Mini Pro...as soon as you open the door you realize is basically unusable VS absolutely usable for the 5" FHD on the UM46K...

It's really really strange no-one is talking about this more except John...
he said it's something he REALLY miss from the UM46K too. ;)

long live the ancient camera! :)

for the pro users, well maybe they can add the Video Assist to their kit. hopefully the 4" is enough for menu/set-up :) I guess this is where the save settings to card come in handy, specially if you're using a rental camera.

In yesterday's shoot with bright sun coming over my right shoulder, the Mini 5" screen was getting difficult to see and my Fujinon focus puller was using the BMVF that I normally use. Was making me think of the Small HD 503. More NITs in daylight always good. First time shooting raw 60 fps for the client too. Used a 216 degree shutter angle and looks good.
