Hoya UV/IR cut + Sigma 18-35mm Art = Vignette??

PostFri May 19, 2017 10:13 pm

Hi. I have a question about the Hoya uv / ir cut filter. Will it make a vignette on an 18-35mm Sigma Art lens?

I ask because I have a cheaper uv / ir filter (Rocolax brand) and it makes a terrible blue vignette with Sigma Art 18-35mm. Reading the description of the Hoya filter I observed a warning about the formation of vignette on lenses with field of vision greater than 60 degrees.

So I was in doubt, because I can end up buying a filter with higher quality (more expensive) and that can continue to make a vignette.

Can anybody tell me if this combination makes a vignette?

Thank you!

PS: Using it with BMPCC with Metabones Speedbooter (Nikon).

It's been a while (and maybe it wasn't apparent to me) and I used this exact combo for a long time but I didn't notice any vignetting.

I have the same rig, never noticed any vignetting and love the image. I noticed a nice difference in my footage using them. Bought them for all of my lenses, I definitely recommended them.
