Indeed, I am a Mac user.
My system is a 5.1 12 core Mac Pro (2x 3,46GHz), 32Gb Ram, 1080ti Nvidia (latest web & cuda drivers), PCIe SSD startup disk, internal Raid 0 for playback & cache location, 12GB ram for Davinci (in preferences), macOS 10.12.5
I do not have a Decklink, I just look at the viewer and full screen viewers.
Resolution is 4K UHD 25FPS AVCHD files (drone footage & fuji xt2), but creating optimized ProResLT files makes no real difference. Sometimes it plays nice, sometimes not.
The lowest timeline resolution I tried is 1080P.
I've gone through all the proposed workflows for better performance, half-res optimized media, performance mode on, smart render cache... I also tried proxy mode, but the resolution becomes so low that it's unbearable to watch.
Going back to 12.5.6, it's no speed demon either, but the performance seems much more consistent than beta 14. I assume this is normal, since 14 is still a beta.
I haven't reported this in the bug thread because I have not tested this extensively and searched for a repeatable pattern that resulted in the sluggish behaviour.
I don't think the above info is helpfull in any way, but I hope it is...
BTW I'm using the Studio Version.
