Hey everyone. In some ways this movie, "Who Killed Nelson Nutmeg?" is old news in that it was shot a couple of years ago. But things move slowly in the film world and it is out now on DVD at Amazon. It's a film for kids, scooby doo style mystery.
I mention it only for a couple of reason. One, to give it a pimp, why not? You gotta back your own film! But secondly, to share the lessons I learned along the way. The blackmagic image is great, it converts really well to DCP / Projection and we did a few 4K showings on the big screen. It looked amazing. But I also became aware of how important it is to be a bit ahead of the curve. When we shot it, they was no Ursa mini and 4K was quite rare. But by the time we are doing the wider release now, it is much more common. People often make a decision to shoot on a format that will suit the market today. Instead, it is about trying to guess when the requiements will be in two years time!
