What LUT is "Video" on the BMPCC in Resolve?

PostWed Sep 13, 2017 2:00 pm

As per the title I'm looking for the LUT in Resolve that matches the "Video" setting on the BMPCC. I want to be able to use that as a base coming from LOG and none of the 4K or Cinema Camera Log to 709 LUTs seem to match up quite right to how the BMPCC shows the look on camera. Any help? Thanks.

No LUT at all - "Video" is the setting that gives you final Rec709 colors directly out of the cam (at the expense of dynamic range/gradablity).

In 12.5 it's called bmdfilm to rec709 v2 or something pretty similar. Don't use the transform in the raw tab, it's not very good though this may have all changed in 14.

This is only for material shot in the "film" color mode, not in the "video" color mode used by the original poster.

.....coming from log, means shot in "film" mode. I wish they'd have abandoned those titles and gone with log and rec709 back when they dropped asa for iso. It's all video.

Guys, the OP is trying to match film log footage from a BMPC or BMCC to the the Rec 709 Video footage shot on a Pocket camera...

Thanks Danny, I think I worded the question poorly. You're almost correct - but trying to match log footage in "film" mode on BMPCC to some footage shot in "video" mode on BMPCC, was hoping that there was a LUT that could be applied to bring it into the same colour space as video mode as the Log to REC 709 isn't matching.

Thanks guys!
