Sony PXW-Z100 4K XVAC-I clips audio issue, DR v14

PostWed Sep 13, 2017 5:31 pm

The XVAC-I 4K clips from Sony PXW-Z100 camera have audio problem. Playing the clip on Media, Color or Fairlight timeline plays fine for a few seconds, and I can hear audio. After a few seconds the Audio sound will disappear. First I thought, the problem was with the footage. I imported the clips in Vegas Pro v15 and also Adobe Premier CC 2017. The clips behave and I can play and hear sound on the time line.

Below are links to the log files and sys info files.

I am using DR v14, Windows 10 x64, 16 GB RAM and 8 GB vRAM, SSD.

Check to see that your Windows audio is set to 48khz not 44.1. Had this problem with the first beta release which was solved by doing this.
Resolve Studio 19.0b build 20
Dell XPS 8700 i7-4790, 24GB RAM, 2 x Evo 860 SSDs, GTX1060/6GB (551.86 Studio Driver), Win10 Home (22H2), Speed Editor, Faderport mk1, Eizo ColorEdge CS230 + BenQ GW2270 + Samsung SA200, Canon C100mk2, Zoom H2n.

Can you provide a link to a sample clip that exhibits the audio issue?

Your sample file audio works properly all the way through the clip on all the Resolve tabs, on my 1050Ti equipped Windows 10 desktop system, using system audio (i.e. I don't have a DeckLink card installed). Multiple times through the clip.

If you are on the Media Pool or Fairlight page, when you stop hearing the audio, are the meters still bouncing?

What playback frame rate are you getting? Is it possible it's dropping below real time, and that's when the audio goes away?

Yes the meters were bouncing.

I will check the frame rate. I did not pay attention to it. Right now my Resolve is busy with another project, which will take over 5 hours to render.
