Upgrading URSA Mini 4.6K?

PostSun Sep 24, 2017 1:27 pm

Hey ebveryone, I recently upgraded from my bmcc rig to a URSA mini 4.6k rig and tried upgrading my firmware.

It said that my firmware was on 4.3 but when it upgraded it went down to 4.0?? Is this normal?

In normal world:
upgrade = upgrade
downgrade = downgrade

In blackmagic world:
upgrade = upgrade
downgrade = upgrade (what ever version you loaded)

Looks like you haven't uninstalled the older camera software from your computer first, so it might be that you accidentally have updated to an older version of the firmware.

Normal procedure for firmware updates with the Ursa Mini:

1. Save camera settings/presets and LUTs to the CFast card as those will be reset with an update.
2. Uninstall older versions of "Blackmagic Camera Setup" from your computer
3. Install new version of "Blackmagic Camera Setup" to your computer
4. Connect power supply and battery to your camera
5. Connect camera via USB to computer (don't use USB hubs, and better use USB2.0 ports instead of USB3.0 - if possible)
6. Start "Blackmagic Camera Setup"
7. Switch on your camera
Saying "Thx for help!" is not a crime.
