11 maximum projector limitation

PostThu Nov 09, 2017 1:11 pm

Hey there, I want projecte many image sequece on a 3d title, but I've reach the limit of 11 projectors and it won't work if I add more than 11.
I do use the free version of Fusion, so I'm not sure if this's the limitation of it or not.
I also notice that if I connect more than 26 projectors to a objecte, it will kill it. seriously, that obj will disappear... I really don't have any idea what's going on here. hope somebody can help me out, thanks.

My first guess would be that you might be running out of (graphic card) memory.

Just wondering: why do you need so many seperate projectors? I'm not saying that what you're experiencing is supposed to be what happens, but I'm trying to figure out what you're trying to achieve.
Maybe there is a way to do the same thing without using so many projectors.

yeah...this is the first 3d project I made with Fusion, I'm kind of new to this thing.
here's screenshot of what I'm doing now. you see the old guys I'm projected onto the text? and they are not still images but a image sequence. I want to cover them all on the title at the last shot.
but due to the limitation of the projectors... I can't achieve this. :|

It's not a workflow that I use a lot personally, so this is no expert advice, but since the shapes are pretty simple, you can start by combining images before feeding them into the projectors, so that for example the top 4 images are 1. This will certainly cut down on the amount of projectors needed.

I think that you would need a maximum of 6 projectors to do what you want. In a sense, imitate a cube mapping.

Try to align the footage in a bigger background before projecting it on your text. It will also make your setup faster and easier to change things.
