Oh and from a friend in Tokyo I know that there are several retailers there that each have at least one BMCC still on stock! Crazy!
Another guy over at BMCUser who's based in Tokyo already thought about providing a "service" like buying BMCCs locally there and shipping them internationally. But he was kinda scared that in case of service being needed they would all contact him and it would end up being a big hassle.
It's really stupid and imho totally unnecessary that people have to come up with such stupid "workarounds"!
I mean.. of course the waiting and holdups suck but we all can to some degree understand what caused it and the hassles that come with getting a totally new product out. But this whole shipping allocation / reseller nonsense is really frustrating - especially in a sort of "globalized" world.
And in most cases (at least for the Aussie retailers that's the case) you can't even decide to just spend more money and buy directly from them - they are not allowed to sell the cam overseas! WTF
This is like all this DVD regional code nonsense back in the day...
For example if BM would sell the cam directly: would people still complain about the cam being late? Of course... but at least the shipping order would be fair which currently accounts for a large amount of the "unrest" in the community (imho).
