HyperDeck Studio Mini won't start recording

I have just got a Television Studio HD and a HyperDeck Studio Mini, and I've run straight into some issues.
The plan was to use the HyperDeck as a recorder for the live sessions we are doing, but it turns out that the HyperDeck didn't like that.
For some reason I can't get it to start recording. I've tried multiple different SD cards (Lexar Professional and Sandisk Ultra) and many different codecs, but nothing happens when I hit the record button.

I'm running 1080i 50 into the HyperDeck.
Any ideas?

Also, what is the best codec to record sessions of approximately 1,2-2 hours?

Did you have video on the LCD?

Did you format the SD cards in the right format?

Did you use a card from the recommended list?

Hello Mathias. A couple of things I have had happen to me. In most cases you need to hit the record button twice. Once for EE mode and the second for record. Once in EE, it should only need a single push.

The other thing that has caught me was the record protection switch on the side of the SD card.

Yes and no... It was on and off for some reason. But even with the video on it wouldn't let me start recording

The SD cards were formated on the HyperDeck itself. It offers both exFAT and OS X Extended, I'm assuming the hyperdeck accepts both?

Did you use a card from the recommended list?

I was using both Sandisk Extreme Pro and what I thought was Lexar Professional 2000x, but turns out to be 1000x.
