UltraStudio 4K Audio doesn't come out of the speakers

Hello all,

We just got a whole bunch of new Blackmagic Design equipment here at work. I'm trying to figure out how to use it, since there isn't anyone who is a SME. The person who ordered all this equipment no longer works here. Currently I'm using a MacPro Trash Can style machine and we've hooked up the UltraStudio 4K via Thunderbolt.

Next I hooked up the M-Audio BX8a Speakers to the XLR output in the back of the UltraStudio 4K. I can see the UltraStudio 4K as an option on my Sound Output device list. But nothing comes out.

Hello Brooks. The XLR audio outputs are balanced line level +4 dBm outputs and will not drive speakers without a monitor amplifier.

Gary those speakers are Active monitors.. They have amplifiers build in
