Hi there,
I'm currently setting up my "grading system" using a GTX1080 attached to my GUI display (QWHD).
An UHD BenQ SW271 connected to a BMD 4k mini monitor.
I love the hardware, but hate the software on the BenQ SW271.
It has some oke specs. True 10bit, UHD, with 14bit lut hardware calibration. The 350nits does not meet the requirements for hdr10, but is nice be able to 'show' HDR content. Contrast is oke-ish. All this for a great price.
However the software, Palette Master, is not ideal. I want to set up my monitor in rec2020. but there is no option in Palette master. Also no option to upload any color profile to the monitor's hardware or use other calibration software to upload a profile. the only hardware calibration you can do is with Palette Master itself in: Rec709, sRGB, aRGB, DCI-P3, Panel Native.
So now the question
What is the best way to get the best rec.2020 calibration on this monitor.
I was thinking to do a hardware calibration with palette master and my i1 Display Pro. Then create a profile using Calman and Davinci, And use that as a output-LUT in Resolve.
Is this the best option? (I'm also thinking about buying a Mini Converter
SDI to HDMI 6G and saving the LUT on there)
Also what should I pick as hardware calibration while profiling in Palette Master? "Native"?
