Strange problem with Primate

PostFri Jan 26, 2018 1:45 pm

Primatte is driving me nuts right now: In a comp I've set Primatte's View Mode to Black in order to merge it's output with the background in an Merge-node later in the flow. In the Viewers everything works as expected. But unfortunately Primatte renders a composite with a solid alpha as soon as I try to render the composition.

Can someone help? Thanks.

Probably something you've already aware of but what format are you rendering out to?

If the output format doesn't support a matte channel (e.g. dpx, cineon, most quicktime formats, etc) you will see correct images in viewers but the output will not have a matte. So depending on how you look at the output (by reading it into Fusion itself, for example) you will see a black (blank) matte channel. This is true of any comp, not just ones using Primatte.
