Hello all, I need some help. I installed resolve 14.2 just a few days ago. I have a pretty good system. i7 7700 processor. 12GB Ram. Geforce GTX 1050 GPU.
After installation. The first time I start the program it get this error:
"Davinchi Resolve is unable to run as the application was not able to initialize the discrete GPU. Please ensure that DaVinci Resolve is configured to run in performance mode in your graphics card settings utility."
Does anyone else get this issue? If so how do you solve it?
I have the same problem as you... same error message. I have a Win 7 computer with an i7-3610 processor, and it uses an Intel HD Graphics 4000 processor. Any help getting past this error message would be great -- the only option it gives me is "Quit."

Hi Peter,
the post states: The “CaptureLogs” application is installed in all DaVinci Resolve systems (except Apple App store versions). If you have a repeatable crash please follow these instructions. 1) Restart DaVinci Resolve 2) Select the help menu and then select ‘Create diagnostics log on desktop’ 3) Post the log or a link to it on a new thread with a description of the steps to reproduce the crash.
I can not do step #1 because I can not start the program.
Note: If you are unable to restart Resolve successfully, logs can be manually captured to the desktop by referring to this thread. viewtopic.php?f=21&t=41211

Ok I think I have figured it out. I'm uploading the Log file and system file.
Also, you say you have a GTX1050. Resolve is not seeing that at all. Which is why it's trying to use the Intel HD630. 14.3 may work better with the HD630.
But you really want the 1050 to be used. Either you don't have it properly installed/powered, or/and, you don't have a proper NVIDIA driver installed. Try updating to the current NVIDIA driver:

Laura, v14 requires a different level of CUDA support so without knowing details of your system we can’t advise a course of action.
