Where do I submit a bug report?

PostSat Feb 24, 2018 8:04 pm

Hello, Blackmagic Product Managers, Engineers, and Users,

I'm enjoying Fusion very much, but I do get the occasional crash, and I'd like to submit a carefully documented bug report, so that Fusion can improve and increase its user base.

Where do I submit a bug report? Do you have a ticket system in place? What's the procedure for following up and verifying that the bug has been fixed?

OK, that's all. Thanks for taking the time to address this important issue.

You can email the BMD support email from our web page.
https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/support/

We hae an internal ticket system but its not available to customers so you would need to watch the BMD twitter or facebook account for notice when releases are made and then refer to the product readme.

You can also post in the Fusion section which does get reviewed by the user community and by BMD staff.
One of them might be able to assist.

Hi Peter
Someone just referred to this post. Is this still the preferred way to submit a bug? If so how does it relate to submitting on the forums - which is how I’ve been doing it?

If you are a Studio license holder you can use the support email but many prefer the speed of the community assistance offered on the forums.

Thanks. Is there any advantage or extra dev views that one gets by submitting via the website?

Hi

The engineering and support teams both monitor the user forum for issues. Plus, as Peter says, other users often chip in with suggestions and workarounds. And this can be useful especially for rare bugs, borderline supported configurations and other scenarios which we may not be able to adequately analyse/reproduce in testing.

Hope that clarified it

I take from your reply that there’s no advantage to using the website rather than the forum for support.
