Lost mouse zoom ability

I'm sure this is a newbie question, but I can't find the answer anywhere and have searched the forum index.

Got up today and something had gone wrong with my mousebinds/keybinds in 14.3.0.014. For some reason, option-mousewheel (on Mac) doesn't zoom in and out on the Edit timeline anymore. Shift-wheel works fine for scrolling left and right, but the zoom feature is not working. How can I fix this?

If the mouse hovers outside the timeline it won't work if I recall correctly. Could that be it?

Nope. It's not working anywhere. Right over the timeline, clicked in the timeline, etc. It ain't a-workin'.

And just like that, I figured it out. For anyone who encounters this problem in the future, and doesn't want to feel like a dummy like me:

I'm using a PC USB keyboard on my mac that has a "windows lock" button, that effectively unmaps the button I had mapped to "option." Go and learn from my silliness.
