RED files are all black clips

Howdy,
I've got a couple projects I'm working on that are using RED footage, and as of yesterday all of the clips are just rendering black. I do get audio playing from a separate WAV file, as well as audio from the RED footage itself. There's no file path problems, I triple checked. This is only happening to my projects with RED files, my other projects shot on a BMPC are doing fine. One of the effected projects is stored on a G-Tech Studio RAID Thunderbolt drive, the other on a Seagate desktop drive. I did some searching and found people had similar issues in the past but not within the last couple years, and it always seemed to be fixed with an update. I've scoured through all the menus and settings, and frankly just gave up yesterday. The only change to my system that I think may have effected it would be that I updated macOS to 10.13.2, and it hasn't been working since.
PLEASE ADVISE! We've got deadlines next week, we can't miss anymore work days.

Machine specs:
Resolve Studio 14.1.1.005
Mac Pro (Late 2013)
3GHz 8-Core
32GB RAM
Dual AMD D500 3GB

Following as I have a similar issue occurring on one workstation - all other formats are fine, Red is just all black. Resolve 14.1.1 on Mac Pro (2011) OS 10.12

Pat, I think you are right that it's the upgrade that killed things.

P.S. Have you tried changing the GPU mode to something else, like Metal?

I alerted Apple Customer Support to the problem in an online chat, then filed a complaint on their hardware support page... However, I think it's going alot of complaints for them to address this asap.

You should alert Apple to the problem you're having. Give them links to the threads on this forum where people are talking about it... including this thread...

For what it's worth, our system admin is downgrading my operating system today.

I had this happen to me yesterday. On one machine Adobe updated their camera raw software. On the other, I stopped the update. The one with the updated Adobe camera raw shows all red footage as black clips with audio.

If you choose to use Metal GPU processing to get around the 10.13.2 OpenCL issue with Red files, make sure that in Camera Raw - Red, you have Bit Depth set to 10. Using 8 or 16 will get you the posterized effect in youe screen shot.

I'm new to Resolve as of tonight 12/30/2017. I am having the exact same issue, my RED footage is black but I can hear audio. My PC does not have the Metal option, only CUDA and OpenCL. What Do I do?

It's March of 2018. Is there a fix to this yet? Metal is too slow for our workflow.

Resolve 14.3 fixes a bit of it.

macOS High Sierra 10.13.4 is the real fix, so whenever that gets released.

I have the latest Resolve. I'll hope for the new OS update when it arrives.
