Create camera movement with fluid image

PostFri Mar 09, 2018 10:31 am

Hi all !

So I was using Resolve to create camera movement inside of an artwork image, to create the effect of a camera that "moves" into the drawing (for an animation clip with a music). But the thing is that the quicker the movement is, the less fluid it gets (the image starts to get choppy at one point). I tried to increase the fps rate but doesn't change anything.

So I was wondering if there was a way to do it in Fusion. I tried camera tracking but it's available only in the studio version. So maybe is there another option ?

Camera tracking is a way to reproduce existing camera motions in 3D.
For what you describe, you'll need transform tools and merges.
In Fusion: Make a Background in your desired resolution, load in your artwork with a Loader, merge them on top of each other with a Merge Tool and use either the Merge tool to resize, angle and position your artwork or insert a Transform tool between your loader and the Merge and do all of this work in there.

The choppiness is because you're used to things blurring when they go faster, if you activate motion blur in Fusion it will be better as well.

Ok I tried and this is what happens when I open my image. It's completely out of the frame and I don't know it's all buged.

How big is the image compared to your background?

Good to hear you figured it out.

Care to share how you did it? This way other people can learn from what you did.
