No Device Detected

PostFri Mar 09, 2018 8:45 pm

I am having trouble connecting my UltraStudio Express unit to my new (refurb) Mac Pro. As seen in the attached screenshot, I have run all updates, even rebooted once more for good measure. Then I installed Desktop Video Setup (first time it has been installed on this computer). The UltraStudio shows up in the system report, but "Desktop Video Setup" does not recognize it.

For more troubleshooting purposes, Desktop Video Setup recognized this unit using this thunderbolt cable on our iMac (Late 2015) and on our MacBook Pro (Mid 2014).

Can anyone provide any clues as to what I might try to correct my issue?

Thank you,
Aubrey

UltraStudio Express is recognized by the OS but not by the Desktop Video Setup program.

Try connecting to the other TB ports on the MacPro?

Xtreemtec has collected and organized extensive FAQs. Thanks to him! The issue is a new security feature on High Sierra which requires you to "allow" use of this Thunderbolt device upon driver installation. If you have this issue, you can find more details under a post by Xtreemtec entitled "Frequently Asked Questions - Capture, Playbackand Stream".

I have a Mac Sierra 10.12.6 and the same problem is happening to me, no matter what version of the software I download, none of them recognizes the camera which is a Sony HXR-NX5R. I have tried with both SDI and HDMI, but the result is the same.
