Apply crop? Newbie needs help...

Ok, this is just embarrassing.. but HOW do i APLLY a crop that i have made? I wanted to cut a small portion of a video clip, but how do i apply the crop to the actual effect? because right now, when i export it to a videofile, i see the huge cropped out black part, just like on the image below (marked with red), instead of the whole image... i understand that i will lose out on the actual size etc, but how do i do this??

and yes, i did try watching the guides, but none helped me..

If I understand the question: if you want to export an image that's just the size of the crop, then you'd have to set the output aspect ratio to that same size.

but, is it possible to scale the image so there are NO black borders at all on the output file, or? if so, how?

It look like you're trying to export for Instagram.

So, assuming that Instagram is a 5/4 format, you need to setup your timeline size for 1350x1080.

Then everything should fall in place.
