UMP card read error

PostTue Mar 13, 2018 6:27 am

I have 2 128GB and 1 256GB CARDS (All Lexar X3400). The Ursa Mini Pro is not recognizing any of these cards. They read just fine on my iMac. Has any one else had this issue? I've tried resetting the camera several times, switching batteries, and reformatting the cards to both exFAT and OS X Extended.

That's not the issue - Lexar 3400x is supported but listed in a different section. Taken from https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/support/faq/59015:

I can also confirm they are working fine with our UM46EF.

To the OP: Since you are using UMP, make sure the media selector is set to CFAST, not SD. While you're at it, also check if the camera can recognise and record on SD cards.

Just to echo what Rauno said-- we have two of these (in addition to the 3600x) and we use them on professional shoots constantly without an issue (all in ProRes) on a UM46K.

I have four of the Lexar 3400x cards and all have worked flawlessly on the Ursa Mini Pro.

ActionBob, have you confirmed that your UMP works with other models of Cfast cards to rule out the possibility that it could be an issue with the Cfast slot in the UMP? I had one unit a few months ago with a malfunctioning Cfast slot.

I called the support line last night and they asked me to send it in for repair or replacement. Thanks for all the responses. The issue was definitely with the cfast reader on the camera and not the cards.
