Sublclips: Renaming and Match Frame

PostThu Mar 22, 2018 12:21 am

Requesting BM improve sub clips by:
1. Make it much easier to rename sub clips. Current method takes 3 steps (1. r-click 2. Choose clip-properties 3. Rename)
2. Add the ability to match-frame a subclip back to the master clip.

Cheers,
Ernesto

Those three steps seem pretty simple. What would be your suggested improvement?
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

For #1, what if you made a smart bin of subclips, and assign all of them the displayname a metadata variable, such as shot? Then you can edit the name directly in the media pool or edit page.

Hey,
For #2, what if you select a master clip > right-click on subclip in timeline > "Conform lock with media pool clip" ? Are you near what you need ?

When you have to create a hundred sub clips with descriptive names it is not quick. Need a shortcut and for the rename window to automatically appear.
