i would be more inclined to shop markertec.com for this. They sell speparate cables for about $15/e and Im sure buying the parts and soldering up your own would be even cheaper with high end parts. Even the $15 3ft cables can be had in many colors.

We've been using those Laird cables for several months now on the BMCC with great success. I should hope so... I was the one that told them to build an alternate 2-foot version, which they sent us after the first build! All Neutrik connectors. They're making two new cables for the BMCC as well as per my suggestions. Looking forward to those as well.
