ATEM Zoom Speed Control with B4 lenses

PostMon Jun 11, 2018 8:01 pm

Hello, I have a question and/or recommendation for ATEM control products.

Right now, it doesn't seem like the zoom speed control is able to be effected by the ATEM (via the camera control menu). It will always start at around 50% zoom even at the slowest ramp. Is there a way to adjust this speed, or is there a way I can recommend it to be adjusted in the future?

Essentially, the manual zoom is useless if the camera is live. It just pushes way too fast.

What type of lens are you referring to?

I use ATEM controlled zoom on a variety of lenses, especially B4 lenses and I can do very precise zooms; and slow.

I've tried on the Fuji XA20sx8.5BER and the Canon HJ11x4.5, both lenses will start at around 50% ramp rate when controlled through ATEM. Also, I've yet to find a LANC controller that will allow for slow push. I haven't seen any settings in the camera body to set the speed.

Which camera are you using? Lanc will not control a B4 lens zoom, they have their own zoom and lens control protocol via the small (6-8 pin) connection on the lens, or via ATEM CCU. That said, I have a Fujinon Zoom controller, one Bebob and one Vairzoom handle style, available, send me a PM.
