Horrible pixels when fade out

PostSun Jun 10, 2018 11:47 am

Hi guys,
I've been working on a comercial and in the final render I can see that pixel thing when I fade out.

That must be about the render settings, but I don't know why it happens.

Where does that commercial go? Internet or something better?
No, an iGPU is not enough, and you can't use HEVC 10 bit 4:2:2 in the free version.

Render as ProRes 422 and transcode to H264 in dedicated app. HandBrake https://handbrake.fr works great and allow fine tune H264 codec settings.

Can't say better. If I had to post first, every single letter would have been the same... :D

Straight to Youtube, but compresing MP4 H.264 in Premiere has no pixel issues like that at all. Shouldn't be a big deal to render for Davincci...

I've had to export it in NDxHD (Where no issuse appear), to import it to premiere and render again in mp4 H.264.

It must be that codec becouse is what the company asked me for, but I would like to do it straight
Ty for the replys! :)

My solution is to use Vimeo Pro and/or Frame.io, where I can use higher bitrates and actually upload ProRes 422LT. That looks fine to me online, particularly for commercial approval and client feedback.

Marc, YT is also ok for ProRes.
The only problem is that they reckon h264 and therefore everybody jumps on it, but it's important to know they re-encode anyway : even if you make a real and good h264 profile, YT will re-encode. So finally, why not sending proRes indeeed, at least it will be encoded once only
