Mini Monitor and 5.1 Audio on the HDMI?

Does 5.1 sound pass through the Mini Monitor? I would like to pass the sound to my 5.1 AV Receiver on HDMI from the Mini Monitor.

It may pass through the mini-monitor, but getting it to pass through the receiver is another issue entirely. Do a search here, I believe others have failed at it.
