you need to adapt the Thunderbolt interface, but no less than USB3
A lot of BMD equipment is designed with Mac hardware in mind.(no plug and pray)
"Doing" video & editing.... you should do with a clean slate, i started using a MacBook Pro, because i had enough troubles with Microsoft windows OS based hardware, you can change about everything on a windows PC....
that makes also a weak point...
Apple hardware is mostly the same, and the OS will be better tuned to it, BMD hardware and software makes good use of that, is my impression, a video system becomes more modulair because of that, and any errors will be quickly fixed.
Maybe this answer will not help you much, but it's something to think about...
