Ultra Studio Mini Monitor - 2:1 Aspect Ratio?

I'm editing some videos with a cropped WS aspect ratio (standard 4k 16:9 captured video files, editing in to 2:1 timeline) and it works fine in FCPX or Resolve, but the playback out of my Ultra Studio Mini Monitor just gets squished on the playback display instead of simply just allow black bars on top and bottom to mirror what is happening in the NLE...

I was wondering if there is a way to make it playback 2:1 video properly when it is being output to a 16:9 monitor?

Experiment with different settings in Image Scaling Output in the config page, and you'll hit on the right combination that will give you the correct sizing. Note that the Mini Monitor only works with HD, last I checked, but this can work just fine for 4K projects provided the scaling is set correctly.
