Good Solution for 2160p60

PostTue Oct 30, 2018 6:33 pm

Hello,
i want get 3840x2160 at 60 frames from a HDMI 2.0 source into a PC. What's the most attractive solution for that?
Is it a "DeckLink 8K Pro" + a "Teranex Mini HDMI to SDI 12G"? Can 2160p60 run over a single SDI-Connection or do i have to build a Dual-Link-Setup? Is the DeckLink 8K Pro able to record 2 more 1080p30 connections if the 2160p60 is connected too?
Of course - computing and storage performance must be given.
I want to build up a professional Streaming-Solution for Twitch and YouTube + connect a professional monitoring solution like a BMD SmartView.

DeckLink 4K Extreme 12G has HDMI 2.0 input.

Yes, 12G-SDI.

What do you expect to gain from a SmartView?

If i use the HDMI input on DeckLink 4K Extreme 12G, is it possible to use both SDI Inputs at the same time?
Smart View as a cheap and small-sized monitoring solution.

No, only the Duo and Quad cards have separate input devices for multiple connectors.

Ah, now i understand. Connectors on 8K Pro or 4K Extreme 12G can only handle one connection in single- dual- or quad-link...
So... multiple cards. Or no 2160p60 if i choose a Duo 2.

Yes, that's right. For streaming, I would not bother with 4K. Doesn't work on Twitch, and most people can't play it back well on YouTube anyway.

I've bought a SDI 4K now to grab 1080p60 content from another PC. More inputs (camera(s)) will come later, maybe with a DeckLink Duo 2.
