32GB are definitely not enough sadly (same with After Effects, so it's all good, just need more RAM).
I'm hoping I don't need to double my ram again. I know people are able to use Resolve on their Laptop with 8 GB ram, so if I'm lucky, there should be a setting I have wrong that is causing issues.
I just opened an old project to see if other projects are having the same issue. The first time I opened it on the edit page my memory filled up and Resolved Crashed. I opened it again and switched to the media page and it did not crash. When all the clip thumbnails loaded my machine was at 88% ram usage. I'm down to 62% RAM usage after letting it sit for about 10 minutes, but I'm not sure what is in the memory right now.
I did look at my .gallery folder for the project I just opened and it just has one file in it. The gallery for this project is in C:\Users\chris\Videos\.gallery\0e3096dd-386b-4aad-98bc-f2382ab715a3 . It has today's date, but the only file in it is the info.txt and it just says:
