Do you always leave your camera on the gimbal?

PostSat Jan 19, 2019 5:48 pm

On the Gimbal Zhiyun Crane 2 I have a orig. BMPCC camera with MovCam Cage and with a small/light Panasonic 25mm f1.7 lens...total weight: 1.5kg. Everything is adjusted and calibrated according to the instructions and everything works fine.

My question: Can the camera always stand on the gimbal / permanently, even if I do not record anything, or does anything break on the gimbal due to the load with time? Can something on the motors break if the camera is always on it without using it?

I have often unexpected recordings and it is difficult to adjust them again and again (with Follow Focus etc.).

Only during transport or travel, then the Gimbal comes in its Zhyiun suitcase.

Should be no problem. But it might be better to get a quick release system.
For example Arca Swiss.

I use a quick release and take it off before walking away.
