Data Recovery of .braw files

PostSun Jan 27, 2019 6:27 pm

Hello, I'm having a huge trouble regarding a possible data recovery of a Lexar 3500x Blackmagic Mini Ursa card, that had some precious Blackmagic Raw files (.braw) inside and was mistakenly formatted, erasing a lot of videos that would be very useful for our work here.

So, the problem is that we are trying different recovery softwares on MAC but they can't seem to find any .braw files inside the formatted Lexar card. Anyone here have been successful in recovery that file extension in any software? Or that operation would need a specific software to reconstruct a uncommon file type as a .braw?

We are grateful for any kind of help, thanks in advance.

How are those software working exactly ? They need previous sample files of that extension to match, right ? So you could train the recovery software with samples RAW files, no ? The metadata and audio tracks should look quite consistent across .braw files

If it was formatted but not used, I suspect you could fix the partition table with Testdisk.
