Disk Speed Test, how fast?

What are the read/write numbers representing on the "How Fast?" section on the screen?

No just needed to find out what the information was saying so I can compare different hard drives and systems for a later system build.

The graphic says MB/s not f/s. MegaBytes per second is the usual reading of MB/s. The usual convention for megabits per second is lower case "b" mb/s.

this card can hold 4 NVME (not faster than 2)
but this is the maximum on the old cMP 5.1
he has only PCIe 2.0 x16 (not 3.0 x 16)

So if he has a problem, I have to assume that I have a "REAL" problem. Both my write and read speeds are wildly fluctuating on each run. Write has been ranging from a high around 300 MB/s to a low of 7 (seven!) MB/s, and Read has ranged from 480 down to 30 MB/s. This is a Toshiba SSD that I installed in my iMac (late 2012) about a year ago due to what was thought to be a disk problem. The SSD seemed to help a lot, but lately it's been giving me the spinning beachball every blink of an eye, and, most egregiously, the spinning ball even stops spinning completely sometimes for about 45 seconds and then the computer comes back to life. When it's stopped, it's stopped. No cursor movement, no response to anything at all. But it comes back. Is this tied to my SSD showing 0 MB/s sometimes for a few seconds during a run and then finally registering something which it did on Read on that 30 MB/s run. This is going on so long, I am thinking maybe I just need to buy a new computer and be done with it. Thoughts? Other tests?

Firts remove all data from the drive, perform secure erase(format the bare minimum) if it wont stop you.

Not sure if the old toshiba SSD drives can lock up, but if they are anything like my old samsung 850 pro ssd, remove data cable from the drive while computer is running (leave power connected) for 15 seconds, then reconnected. After that secure erase should be doable and suprise drive performance might be back to normal. Or it might be controller on the SSD could be on its last legs.
