Fairlight - Visible Video Tracks not showing

PostFri Feb 08, 2019 5:47 pm

Hi,

I have a Ubuntu notebook with DaVinci 15.2.3 and the "visible video tracks" in fairlight do not show the video guides (just a empty background instead). Is someone also with this issue? Any tips on how to solve it?

Thanks in advance.

The "Girl on a Wave Trailer" demo Project contains ProRes 422 Proxy media.
You may need the Advanced Panel to decode ProRes media on Linux.

Everything works fine apart from that panel/feature. In any case, what would be a good codec to transcode to in linux, being accetable in DaVinci Resolve Lite version?

Thank you!

You should be able to playback ProRes on all OS with the free version as we include the decoder.

Do the clips play in the Media page?

Hi Peter, thanks for the response.

Everything works as expected, I can see all clips in media page, edit them perfectly cutting, trimming, looking at thumbnails, the color page also is fine. In Fairlight I can see them playing in the upper right viwer. It is just this one functionality "visible video tracks" in Fairlight timeline options menu which is not working.

Best regards,

Your timeline image does not show any video tracks, so the black viewer matches that correctly.
Can you show an image of the same timecode position of the playhead on the edit page?

It is a big coincidence, that particularly timecode is actually a gap in the video. I am sending that one and the one after that.

Thanks again.

Just download the 15.2.4 version and the bug is still there. No video tracks on Fairlight timeline.

Did you ever get a solution for this? I'm using DR 15.3 on Ubuntu and have the same issue - video tracks not showing in Fairlight when activated in 'Timeline View Options'.
