Intensity Extreme and 480p HDMI input

PostMon Feb 11, 2019 8:05 pm

Hi,
I'm trying to capture from a vintage game console running through a 480p line doubler.

My question is, is the intensity extreme (thunderbolt) capable of capturing 480p via hdmi?

Thanks,
W

All depends on how the line doubler behalves,, Does it work on a TV with HDMI?

Not sure if the intensity extreme will pick a Progressive SD signal.. As they mention interlaced below in the specs.

Yes, it works fine on a tv, the blackmagic only shows black.

I’ve tried a few different upscalers and converters now, each of which sends a decent image to a television but none of which work with the intensity. The original signal is composite from a NES, which was an odd standard that won’t capture natively.

I'm not really sure how to proceed further. I would pull my decimator MD-Cross in this. But i'm not sure if it will do SD progressive either..

At this point I have both a 1080p upscaler and a 480p line doubler, either one delivers a great image on any TV or projector I plug it into, but the Intensity refuses to capture either. So I am guessing the only way forward is to find another capture box.

The intensity will not capture 1080P right? It is up to 1080i50/60 only. ;)
