edited a piece in resolve 15.2.2 free on a windows machine. project file stored locally. media on samsung t5. sound effects library on a gdrive loaded into resolves sound effects library.
I've tried turning over to my sound mixer who works in pro tools. i've tried export .aaf from the timeline. i've tried avid aaf i've tried the pro tools export. i've exported an xml into premiere and had issues.
.aaf export from timeline has no option field like the manual states, so i can't consolidate all files for turnover. tried copying/transcoding/moving & relinking files to a new folder with the media manager option. when resolve 'touches' the wav files i used to sound design, they get borked. premiere can't play them. protools can't import them. quicktime can't play them. in finder and vnc they show 0:00 for duration. mp3s come across, relink and play fine.
similarly with the xml to premiere workaround, all of the .wav files become unreadable once i import the xml into premiere. they're imported in as files, but greyed out in the timeline and don't produce any audio.
.aff exports from the delivery page package the audio as .mxfs, which my mixer can read, but pro tools doesn't relink any of it. he has to manually conform.
I know i can export stems, but that's an unworkable workflow for me moving forward. i could dig through my sfx library and transcode to mp3s, but again, that's a huge headache.
I switched onto a mac and had the same errors. I tried transcoding via media manager using the aac codec rather than the linear pcm codec, but that seems to only affect the source audio on the video clips.
also tried updating to resolve 15.2.3. same errors.
am I missing something? is this kind of functionality reserved for the studio version? enjoyed cutting in resolve, but being unable to turnover to a sound mixer is kinda a deal breaker...
