15B4 - Optimal NVIDIA 3D Settings for Resolve

Hello,
I just upgraded my 1080 workstation with a Quadro P4000 card, Pascal architecture, 8GB VRAM, 1792 CUDA cores.

With the current settings it renders twice as fast as the older Quadro K1200.
I was expecting at least 3 times faster because:
the P4000 has almost four time as many CUDA cores based on the more efficient Pascal architecture in addition to double the amount of VRAM at three times the memory bandwidth.

Perhaps the 3D settings for Resolve in the NVIDIA Control Panel need to be adjusted?
The default setting show some features set to off, e.g.
"Enable overlay", "Multi Frame Sampled AA", "Tripple buffering".

Perhaps someone from BMD can point out the optimal NVIDIA 3D settings for Resolve.

It's likely the GPU is now not the bottleneck so its operating as fast as needed and something else is slowing the processing.

I dont think you need to set NVIDIA settings.

I found, that the motion graphics and Delta Keyers in Fusion where utilizing the GPU to 100% yet rendering slower than the CPUs.
I set Fusion to CPU only which is now rendering twice as fast as on the GPU.

Could you please announce as soon as this problem is fixed, so we can all switch Fusion back to CUDA / OpelCL?

Hello everyone. I'd still be interested to know what others have found to be the optimal NVIDIA 3D settings for Resolve. I didn't find anything about it in the manual or configuration guide.

It doesn't matter what you choose there in my testing. Similarly as it doesn't matter what you choose there for common game benchmarks such as 3D Mark. Drivers are good enough to do the right thing these days. You can get a bit more performance by overclocking the GPU and its memory. But this is at best a 1/20th gain. Also Resolve is a comparably light work load for the cards. 3D Mark usually manages to heat up the card to 90 degrees, Resolve can't exceed 70 even with heavy TNR. It seems more limited by memory bandwidth.
5950x, 3090, 128GB.

Thanks, Peter. Those are good points. I agree that the results of any level of tweaking with the NVIDIA 3D settings would be negligible, at best. It definitely won't overcome the loads imposed by TNR. It's the cumulative gains from all the little tweaks in user/project, hardware, and OS settings that yield results, and motivate me. I'll continue to look into this however with some friends at Blackmagic, and will share here any findings they convey. Thanks once again for sharing your knowledge. Much appreciated.
