I now have the LA16 lens and generally pleased with it so here are a few initial observations.
One feature that I didn't see as advertised or mentioned, that I found by trial and error, is that if you engage the macro ring you can use the focus button on the URSA Broadcast. Having said that, I find it's much quicker, easier and more accurate to manually focus the lens anyway!
There is a small bit of colour aberration on some exterem telephoto shots, but really is slight.
The back focus was easy to setup and I found the best results to follow the lens guidance of doing the procedure 3M from the back focus chart. Engage servo zoom, Zoom all the way in, press the F.f. button for three seconds, manually focus, press it again, the lens will go Wide, re-focus & press the F.f. button once more to finish the procedure. The focus holds well across the full range.
The auto-exposure button on the lens appears to require you to turn the camera off and back on when switching from Manual to Auto in order for the BM Menus to enable you to select IRIS options and the Auto-Exposure mode, however this could be a BMD issue rather than lens though.
Once done, you can turn the switch back to manual and use the "Push Auto" switch on the lens. If the camera is turned off / on with the lens in manual exposure, then you will need to turn it of again switch to Auto Iris on the lens an switch back on if you want to re-instate auto exposure.
Servo Zoom: fastest from Telephoto => Wide (and vice-versa) ~1.5 seconds
slowest (using lens rocker) ~ 39 seconds
Macro Mode: Very pleased with this and even a few inches away you can zoom in to about 40mm before you lose focus. When you engage macro focus there are no end stops on the focus ring but I don't see that as an issue.
