Not moving to 16 until .2 or .3 released and then only Color here. Maybe to cut my reel, to try it out.

the Cut page is very useful on certain material. For me thats talking-head youtube style videos getting rid of umms and aahs. I use it a lot

I've tested it a bit, and I think for some types of material it'll be very popular, like videoblogs, quick news edits etc.

For my projects, I doubt I will use the Cut page often. Maybe just for quick draft - to get a feel for an edit, but I will probably end up using the Edit page.

I use it at the beginning of projects to create stringouts. I love the source tape feature!!!

Never.

There's a lot I like about the Cut page but there's a lot that makes it useless to me.

Loves
Source Tape

Clip View

Fast Review

Auto Track Height

Mini-Timeline

In-viewer crop, scale, etc. tools are implemented better than they are in the Edit page.

The ability to make the Media Pool larger

Label-less filmstrip view

New trim features in the Source Viewer

Hates
Groups audio tracks and doesn't give you much control over them. Even if I could edit something more quickly in the Cut page, I'd have to spend more time cleaning up the audio in the Edit or Fairlight page.

Can't drag the shoulders of clips to do quick fades

Can't change the transition type as quickly as the Edit page.

Can't have more than one timeline open at a time.

The inspector is made into a floating window that is toggled by button available sometimes and is hidden within a toolbar that needs to be toggled on itself. How is it quicker to have a window I have to move around or close and re-open every time?

Doesn't support dual-screen.

Can't collapse the mini-timeline if the project is too complex for it to be useful.

Can't choose the zoom level of the larger timeline.

No option to display source viewer and timeline viewer at the same time.

Completely unnecessary extra project settings dropdown in viewer is replaces two/one view toggle button.

The fact that the Cut page's goal of being fast and everything having a purpose is stated as if that's antithetically to goals behind the Edit page. That just feels like a slap in the face.

Will eventually be merged with the Edit page anyway, but only in the two years once it becomes obvious that it's conceptually limited.

I use cut page for scrub lots of footages,
I real need 3 key shortcuts on my keyboard been assigned on "fast review" and "jog control" buttons.

fast review is very useful, but would like a "press go and release stop" behaviour.
and jog control is same behaviour assign with another 2 keys.

currently, I have to use "fast forward" as it has shortcuts, but I believe it's not that smart as fast review, which can speed up for longer footages, and slower for short ones.
I have to use mouse to imaplulate jog control, which is quite wasting time.

if I can have these 3 shortcuts on my keyboard, cut page will be superb!
