The ones downloadable from the Blackmagic training pages are uncaptioned .mp4 files, so I didn't think to look for them on youtube, where they turn out to be captioned. Thanks, I'll start on these today.

Well, in faint justification for my initial request, my mental model is that a video is just a sequence of frames. Just like a text editor, I thought it would be easy to locate frames, snip them out, etc. and that functionality would be easy and clear to find in a video editor.
And in regards to learning Cut without learning Edit, I suppose I just wanted to "stand on the shoulders of giants." We don't bother to learn how to knapp flint anymore do we, but just whet our steel knives on the sharpener.
