Fusion effects are displayed incorrectly in ACES (beta4)

PostThu Jun 20, 2019 8:07 am

Hello

There is a bug that changes the colour of the Fusion clips in beta 4. When working in ACES-colorspace, all the effect clips are more saturated and red after being processed in Fusion. Everything looks normal in fusion, but when I go to the color page the clips are different even after deleting all the effect-nodes in the Fusion node-tree.

I hope this gets fixed soon.

I read in another thread that when a clip goes into Fusion from a timeline, you're seeing the original clip sans all effects and color that may already be applied.

Is it possible you're not taking that into account, and reapplying something in Fusion which then gets doubled-up elsewhere?

Fusion page round trip is broken in ACES, I made a thread with demonstrational video about it. Resolve changes the colorspace between mediain and mediaout even in the most basic comp (nothing happening in Fu side) and messes up the image.
I do stuff.

I'm just not seeing this in my own project.

I'm using Studio 16b6 for Windows, a GTX 1070 with Studio driver 430.86, GH4 UHD media, ACEScc (version 1.1), Panasonic V35 IDT and REC 2020, S2084 (1000 nits, P3D65, Limited) ODT.

The colors are more vibrant in Fusion, but return to 'normal' on Edit and Color pages.

Maybe got fixed since beta 4?

Did you just took a peek at Fu page or did something there too? You must force Fu comp into action, moving a node will do, after that look at edit page again. In b5 it was broken, haven't tried in b6 because I haven't had time to update yet.

I have demo video of problem in this thread: viewtopic.php?f=32&t=94185

I did add an effect in my testing.
