Ripple delete not working on the cut page

I get the same result on both beta 5 and beta 6. I can ripple delete and remove gaps on the edit page, but not the cut page. On the cut page, a clip is just deleted and a gap remains. Is there some setting or toggle that I might have inadvertantly switched?

I think the Cut page might only be able to do that on the first track. The Cut page is seemingly designed for a very super specific un-specified scenario that only like a hand full of people seem to find useful.

Backspace to 'lift' a clip; Shift-backspace to 'lift & close gap'.

OR Delete key (Windows) to 'lift & close gap'.

Yes, it's a Cut page feature. Whether or not BMD will add it to the Edit page only BMD knows, but I suspect not. It's an efficiency oriented feature, while the Edit page is more tuned toward craft editing, not quick and/or rough editing.

So the flow would be Cut to make your rough, Edit to fine tune, then on to Color + Fairlight in whatever order you feel like, bouncing to Fusion whenever you need to.

At least that's my understanding. If there IS a plan to implement some of the Cut page functionality in the Edit page, it might be a v17 thing because BMD isn't into half-assing features for the sake of features. The entire Cut page was an experiment designed to generate feedback, so the 2nd iteration will probably rock.

I like it for the most part; my main criticism of it is that video track one behaves differently from the rest of the video tracks in the Cut page. Every time I trip over that it feels like a bug, because a track is a track everywhere else.

Ripple delete started working for me. I don't know what I did.

same complaint. Ripple delete not working on the cut page. This is VERY annoying. I do find the cut page very useful when ripple delete works.

If I mark in and out and Shift-backspace, it works perfectly for me on ALL tracks.

Del is also working now in Windows on Beta 7 when the audio is on A1. Thanks for adding that back in BM!

I made it work again by going into the edit page, alt selecting the [<>] button on the leftfor the video 1 and audio 1 tracks then going back onto the cut page and it works.

Just incase every has this problem and had no idea what to do like I did

Also making sure that the audio and video were linked too, check by right clicking on both audio and video on the edit page, and link should be ticked at the bottom of the right click menu.

I have the same issue and I have found a fix(link the clips), however it creates a problem with the trim in and out function.

Really hope this bug gets addressed.

For me, ripple delete in cut page works like this:
First, just use backspace to delete the clip.
In its place a grey placeholder appears
Use backspace to ripple delete the placeholder

very annoying ripple delete not works on cut page!!! please fix this.
