No. Like S-35, S-16 is using an area that was reserved for a soundtrack in N-16 as image area, so it's wider. Plus, the sensor area we have been told is not exactly like S-16 when finally screened, in analog workflow there is some cropping going on in most cases down the chain.
I think these values I found after some research and calculation should help in lens tests:
– I'm using a GH2 for testing, which has 19mm x 10.7mm when shooting 16:9
– The BMPCC should have 12.48mm x 7.02mm
– So the image circle according to Phytagoras is 14.38mm
– The crop factor is 1.52 as compared to the GH2
– The number of horizontal pixels is 1842, so we put alignment lines at 479 px and 2321 px in Photoshop
– The width is 3274 px, so we need alignment lines at 851 px and 4125 px
Voilá, the blue frame is what the BMPCC should show in the end. Please correct me if anything's wrong!
