There's only one scenario where I have experienced this. As I usually store all my Fu compositions as simple text files and frequently paste them in when needed.

When working in the Fusion page of DaVinci Resolve, if I paste in my nodes without first creating a Fusion composition in the Edit page, the right - click paste option is greyed out. (So I create a composition first and then paste in my nodes).

Other than that, I cant think of any other reason why nodes wont copy and paste from one clip to another clip.

I've noticed this on 16.1 b11, where you can't copy or paste upon loading a comp.

To get it working you have to drag a clip into the viewer and zoom in/out, and zoom in/out on the flow and it restores functionality.

Thank you for this. Just logged in to thank you... because I couldn't understand.
I'm on 16.2 free version, the bug is still alive.

I am currently having the same issue on version 16.2.5. I can't copy and paste any nodes in the fusion page. Nothing happens. Duplicating a fusion clip does not keep the nodes of the original. The above work around does not work for me. I'm stuck.

I've experienced this a number of times, and should have reported it before. It's exceedingly annoying.

It's caused by using the Clips pane in Resolve's Fusion page to switch between multiple clips on the timeline. It can be avoided by never using the Clips pane in the Fusion page, and instead switching clips by going back and forth to Edit.

Using the Clips pane will trigger at least two issues:
1. You can't copy nodes, or paste those already on your clipboard.
2. You can't delete nodes.

The issue never occurs if you switch clips by going back and forth to the Edit page. But, at least for me, *always* occurs if I use the Fusion page Clip pane.

The issue can be worked around by - bizarrely - copying some other text to your clipboard from outside Resolve. This will get the copy/paste and delete functions working again; at least until you next switch clips using the Clips pane.

Here's a video that comprehensively demonstrates these issues. In the top right you see a clipboard history app, which I put there to indicate that Resolve Fusion stops updating the clipboard once the Clips pane has been used, and that it starts working again when you leave Fusion (eg going to Edit), or when the clipboard is updated from another app.

A really weird and annoying bug.

I'm experiencing the same issue on Mac OS X 10.15.6. Thanks for posting that workaround.

Have any of you noticed that it tends to happen in more complex projects or longer sessions?

In my case at least it appears to behave like that. What's even more interesting, it never happens in fresh projects, and the first times it happens usually I can still copy after a few seconds or minutes of loading the comp (time seems to increase exponentially though). I'd dare to say that it has to do with the cache purge mechanism in the Fusion tab, that'd explain why c&p in an external program or even switching to the edit tab seems to mitigate the issue.

Thank you for posting this! No matter what I did, I could not get the attributes to copy and paste with any method. This silly little workaround worked for me. It's 2021, this bug should have been fixed by now.

Yes seems to be fixed, that's great, thanks.

A minor point Shrinivas, but I think the release notes for Fusion changes have got a little mixed up. There's no mention of this important bug fix in the DaVinci Resolve 17.3 release notes, either under Fusion or General. But then it is mentioned under the Fusion Studio 17.3 release notes, even though it's a Resolve-only issue. I think some of the other Fusion Studio release note points also apply to Resolve, like undo in Text+?

It'd be helpful for people updating if the Resolve change log could be updated at some point to mention those improvements.

Thanks again for the fix, and for letting us know.
