thunderbolt 3 to thunderbolt 2 converter

i recently changed of pc and i went from a macbook air 2012 to a macbook air 2017. unfortunately, the mac 2017 have a thunderbolt 3 entry and my ultra studio mini recorder uses a thunderbolt 2 entry.I directly went to the store to buy a two-way adapter plug it in my pc and plug it in the ultra studio mini recorder but there was no light on the converter and my macbook air 2017 did not receive any signal I use a atem television studio HD as video switcher

Tried surfing the internet and if you are planning on using this for Macbook air and found a converter worth $49 online. You may visit Apple online stores.

Can anyone confirm that the Apple Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) to Thunderbolt 2 Adapter supplies power?

I'm not sure if the Ultra Studio Mini Recorder will work with a Thunderbolt adaptor.

yes, the Apple TB3/TB2 adapter (MMEL2AM/A) does supply power from the TB3 port to the TB2 device.

i am using a Ultra Studio Mini recorder with this adpater on both a touchbar MacBook Pro, and a Dell XPS15 9575
